Here we come, a new season is fast approaching! It seems only yesterday that we were packing everything away at the end of last season, but here we are in October already. It’s been a pretty hot summer here in the Pirin Mountains for everyone in Bansko. However now we have already had the first smatterings of snow on the upper slopes of Todorka. The latest forecast is predicting more significant snowfall later this week!

BANSKO OPENING DATE 2021

While of course we enjoyed the summer break, we have been busy preparing for what lays ahead over the coming months.

When is Bansko Ski Resort estimated to open for the ski season 2021/22? This is probably the most popular question we are being asked as we head towards the new season. Historically, Bansko Ski Resort opens a few of the pistes at the beginning of December. Of course, this is always dependent on early season snow conditions. The official opening weekend is almost always held on the second weekend in December in an amazing festive atmosphere. This coincides with thousands of students from Greece & Bulgaria celebrating their traditional student weekends in Bansko.

There is still no announcement about the opening date for season 2021/22. Stay tuned on our social media platforms so you can be the first to learn the news a bit closer to December.

 

BANSKO OPEN DURING THE WHOLE SEASON 2021

In the meantime, every week we receive more and more requests for the upcoming winter. We can feel your energy and excitement for this season, especially as covid kept some of you at home last year! Another great reason for visiting Bansko is the fact that it was among the very few ski resorts in Europe to remain open last winter during a difficult covid season, respecting all the national health guidelines. Indeed, it was an amazing season here in Bansko with those who made it enjoying deserted slopes. Almost no time queuing and fantastic snow conditions. After the success of last season, with many new guests coming from all over Europe it is fair to say that Bansko established itself as a safe and reliable escape during such difficult times.
