LABORATORIES FOR PCR/RAPID TEST IN BANSKO

As we enter the new ski and snowboard season, we know that many who will come to Bansko this coming winter will want to know where they can perform a PCR/rapid test in Bansko. Therefore, we conducted our own research especially for you and have gathered in one place all the answers to the most popular questions about a PCR/rapid test in the Bansko area.

At the moment there is one laboratory in Bansko where you can get yourself tested for covid-19 and 2 labs in Razlog, a larger town approx. 4km away from Bansko.

 

MEGALAB LABORATORY BANSKO for PCR/Rapid test

• Address: Polejan 11, Bansko (100 m above Kempinski hotel and then turn left. Megalab is next to Predela 1)
• Opening hours for PCR test:
  Monday to Sunday, 08:00-18:00
• Available hours to receive your PCR test results:
  When it is not too busy:
  Taking the test between 08:00-12:00, you may have the results until 13:30
  Taking the test until 16:00, you may have the results until 17:30
  Taking the test after 16:00, you may have the results on the next day.

  During high season the lab encourages its customer to visit them 1-2 days before their departure so they can get tested and get their results in time because it is expected to be pretty busy.

• Opening hours for rapid test:
  Monday to Sunday, 08:00-18:00
• Available hours to receive your Rapid test results: On the same day after approx. 10 min of your test
• Rapid test cost: 20 BGN
• Reservation for testing: They do not work with appointments
• Result in paper or digital format: You get the paper result directly from the laboratory and you get together with this a code with which you download your results in digital form

• Opening hours for rapid test:
  Monday to Saturday, 08:00-14:00

• Available hours to receive your Rapid test results: On the same day after 15-20 min of your test

• Reservation for testing: They do not work with appointments
• Result in paper or digital format: You can get a code and download your test online or get the paper result directly from the laboratory.

 

RAMUS LABORATORY RAZLOG (4km away from Bansko)

• Address: Sveti Sveti Kiril i Metodiy 4, Razlog
• Opening hours for PCR test:
  Monday to Saturday, 08:00-12:00
  Sunday: Closed
• Available hours to receive your PCR test results: On the next day
• PCR test cost: 70 BGN
• Opening hours for rapid test:
  Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00
  Saturday, 08:00-11:00
  Sunday: Closed
• Available hours to receive your Rapid test results: On the same day after 15-20 min of your test
• Rapid test cost: 10 BGN
• Reservation for testing: They do not work with appointments
• Result in paper or digital format: You can receive only a paper result personally from the laboratory. Online result is not available.

 

MICROBIOLOGICAL LABORATORY HOSPITAL RAZLOG (4km away from Bansko)

• Address: Sveti Sveti Kiril i Metodiy 2, Hospital Razlog (you enter with the car to the rear of the hospital, the microbiological lab is outside behind the hospital).
• Opening hours for PCR test: Monday to Saturday, 08:00-11:00
• Available hours to receive your PCR test results: On the same day 15:00-17:00
• PCR test cost: 70 BGN
• Opening hours for Rapid test:
  Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30
  Saturday & Sunday, 08:00-16:00
• Available hours to receive your Rapid test results: On the same day after 15-20 min of your test
• Rapid test cost: 10 BGN
• Reservation for testing: They do not work with appointments
• Result in paper or digital format: You can receive the test on your email address, however if you need the test for travelling purposes, they suggest to get the stamped paper result personally from the laboratory.

 

We have no contact details for the laboratories as they prefer to avoid any phone conversations as they are usually experiencing very busy periods during the ski season.

As we understand from local sources, a number of mobile testing units offering rapid tests will be set up around Bansko in places such as the town centre of Bansko and in the ski zone itself with the possibility one of these units being very close to our shop or close to our sister Snack Bar & Cafe STATION Bansko. Of course, as soon as we have confirmation of the exact locations, we will share this news with you.

Extra tip: Make sure you check that all your personal details are correct when you receive your test. This will help you avoid unpleasant situations when you are tested while exiting the country etc.
