SKI PASSES

Ski passes (or lift passes) are the tickets that someone needs to use the ski lifts of Bansko Ski Resort.

Independent ski shops, like Tsakiris, do not sell ski passes. Tsakiris Ski & Snowboard has created this page to inform our customers about ski passes’ prices, when and where to buy them from.

SELLING POINTS & FAQs

Where can I buy my ski pass from?

1st selling point: Cash desks at the Gondola bottom station in Bansko town (just 3 min walk from our shop)

OPENING HOURS
Sunday to Wednesday: 08:30 – 17:00. Lift pass sale for the next day between 16:30 – 17:00.
Thursday, Friday & Saturday: 08:30 – 21:00. Lift pass sale for the next day between 16:30 – 21:00.

NOTE
Gondola lift opens at 08:00 while the cash desks open at 08:30 and they already have a queue. Plus, a second long queue to get in the Gondola. Make sure you arrive quite early, especially if you have any lessons to catch.

2nd selling point: Cash desks at the top of the Gondola on the mountain, in Banderitsa Polyana

This case is very useful if you are going up on the mountain with a vehicle (Bansko to Banderitsa is approx. 15-20 min).

The way up is approx. 20 min plus any delays if you find traffic or the road is very snowy. Make sure you have snow chains with you and you start early enough to avoid traffic jams -start at 08:00 from Bansko during busy periods. The parking fee is about 20 BGN in cash.
If you are first timer or very beginner you must park in Banderitsa Polyana area, next to the Gondola station. However, the parking in Banderitsa gets full from early in the morning, so make sure you depart early enough from Bansko. If you are able to ski or snowboard at least a blue run, you can park anywhere else and ski down to Banderitsa to get your ski pass from the tickets office at the Gondola top station.

OPENING HOURS
Daily 08:30 – 17:00

3rd selling point: Vending machines around the ski zone

Since 2021 there are a few vending machines around the Gondola station where you can buy your ski passes automatically. We have noticed 2 of them:

  • Maxsport store on Pirin Str. next to Hotel Strazhite
  • Gondola’s parking area just before the Gondola’s entrance

Stay tuned for 2022/23 updates on the vending machines.

OPENING HOURS
To be announced.

4th selling point: Selected hotels

There are some selected hotels in Bansko that sell ski passes at their receptions. Stay tuned for 2022/23 season’s hotel list for regular and VIP ski pass sale.

OPENING HOURS
Season 2021/22, Daily between 08:30 – 22:00. Lift pass sale for the next day after 17:30.
Season 2022/23: To be announced

When to get my lift pass?

You can buy your ski pass either the same day or the day before. In the mornings you have 2 queues to face in the morning rush hours, one to buy your ski pass and another one to get inside the cabin lift. Therefore, we always suggest to our customers to get their passes, if possible, the day before their first day on the slopes and save time for the next morning.

Not enough time to get your ski pass the day before?
No worries. Check your options below:

  • Wait at the queue to enter the Gondola while a friend will get in the cash desk’s line to buy your ski passes
  • Get your ski pass from a hotel in the morning before you go at the Gondola
  • Drive or get a shuttle bus or taxi to Banderitsa Polyana and get in from the cash desk at the top of the Gondola

Can I buy my ski pass online?

Online purchase is not available, unfortunately. However, you can reload online an old plastic ski pass you may have from a previous time. Learn more here.

In which currency do I pay?

At the Gondola’s cash desks you pay only in Bulgarian lev (BGN) or by card.

Regarding payments in the hotels and vending machines, we suggest you check dirently with the responsible places.

I am beginner. Do I need a ski pass?

Either you are planning to use all the lifts or just a small beginners lift, you still need a ski pass.
At most of the lifts there is a magnetic entrance where you need a ski pass to enter. For the beginners lifts on Banderitsa Polyana that do not have this system, the responsible staff will ask to see your ski pass. Last but not least, a ski pass includes on piste insurance so you can be transferred at the ski resort’s medical center free of charge in case of an accident.

We will be happy to advise you further on this at your fitting appointment.

What's the difference between a Gondola ticket & a ski pass?

GONDOLA TICKET
The Gondola ticket is used by non skiers who wish to visit the ski center and enjoy the nature or dine and drink on the chalets on Banderitsa Polyana (top of the Gondola area). It includes one way up and one way down. It can’t be used for 2 ways up. It does not include any lifts use.

SKI PASS
The ski pass is what you need to access all the ski resort’s lifts and slopes, either you need just a small beginners lift or all the lifts of the mountain. It includes unlimited daily use of all the lifts, including the Gondola lift, either you use it or not. There is no option to buy a cheaper ski pass if you don’t use the Gondola lift.

Some beginner skiers and snowboarders that intend to save some money, buy the gondola ticket so they can arrive on Banderitsa and then just walk up on the short beginners slopes and ski down, without using the lifts.

Other skiers & snowboarders that know some basics and want to save money, buy the gondola ticket so they can arrive on Banderitsa and ski down once the ski road. This is the 7km blue slope from Banderitsa to Bansko.

ATTENTION
In the above cases, always keep in mind that the Gondola ticket is not intended for ski use therefore it does not include any insurance. This means that in case of an accident on the way down, if you need to be transferred from the slope to the medical center, you might need to pay a large amount of money (from 25 to 300 euro) since you do not have a ski pass.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT SKI PASSES

  • The daily use of ski passes is from 08:30 to 17:30 in the afternoon of the same day.
  • Ski passes are strictly personal and cannot be used by another person. There is face control at all lifts with a profile of the pass holder including a high-resolution photo. In case of fraud the card will be revoked and the user will be expelled from the ski resort.
  • Ski passes include mountain insurance – on piste only – but it covers your transfer to the resort’s medical centre, a short check on your injury and usually not any further treatments. We suggest you to have your own personal insurance, while, we advise you to travel with your European Health Card, if you have one.
  • The price of the lift pass or ticket will not be reimbursed in case of not working lifts and Gondola due to:
    – bad weather conditions
    – lack of electrical power
    – other force majeure force circumstances.
Also, you cannot get a refund in case of injury or if you decide to change your schedule and have less skiing/snowboarding days.
  • College (and high school) student’s/pupils’ card is issued upon presentation of a valid student/pupils’ ID.
  • The half-day ski pass can be purchased after 12:00 of the same day, but the service is activated at 12:30 and allows the use of all working lifts located in the ski area until the end their working hours for the respective day.
  • If all days on the “Bansko Twenty” card are not used within this season, the rest cannot be transferred to next season or reimbursed.
  • Duration of the season 2023 – 2024 is from 16.12.2023 to 14.04.2024.
  • The operator of the resort reserves the right to change the date for the beginning and end of season depending on weather conditions and snow.

TSAKIRIS Ski & Snowboard provides these information for our audience’s best possible customer service. We are not responsible for any sudden change by the managing company Bansko Ski Resort of tickets offices working hours, prices or terms and conditions for ski passes usage.
