When picking the lessons’ slot, have in mind that you meet the instructor at a specific, easy-to-find meeting point on the mountain and you need 25′ to reach the ski centre.

FAQ WHEN BOOKING A LESSON

How to book a lesson?
  • In advance through an email.

You need to inform us about:

  • the dates for your lessons
  • how many persons are interested
  • their ages
  • their level
  • the preferred lessons schedule
  • the preferred time
  • and last but not least the preferred language.

Then we let you know about the availability and as soon as we proceed, we make a reservation which will be re-confirmed with your arrival at the shop the day before your first day on the slopes.

  • On the spot
either a day (or few) before to secure the time of your preference or even the same day, always according to the availability.
Where do I meet the instructor?

On Banderitsa Polyana, the second -last- station of the Gondola lift. Make sure you arrive early enough to catch your lesson.

  • Going up by the Gondola?
You need 25 min + any delays due to long queues.
We advise to hit the gondola queues at least 1,5 – 2 hours earlier on busy periods.
  • Going up by car?
You need about 20 min + any delays on road due to heavy traffic or full parking.
We advise to start driving from Bansko definitely before 09:00 on busy periods.
Can we combine children and adults in the same group?

We avoid mixing kids and adults in the same lesson as the pace of progress is different.
However:

Children over 10 years old may attend lessons together with adults.

Little kids and adults are combined in a (private) group lesson only in family cases and only since the family desires that.

Children of 5 years old or younger

…are not added in groups, as they usually require extra attention from the instructor which delays a lot the rest of the group’s progress. Moreover, a 2hour lesson is usually too much for them. However, we are fine not to separate them from the rest of the family in the first family lessons, if you wish so.

What do you recommend for kids up to 5 years old?
First timer? Family fun on snow.

In their first experiences on the snow we want our little ones to get familiar and feel comfortable with moving on this strange new terrain for them. So, spent some time on playing with them on the snow, without and with the equipment in order them to gain some confidence and have fun next to their parents and you to see if they like it would like to move on the next step with some tuition.

Kids ski equipment starts from 24 European size (UK 6 youth size) and skis from 70 cm.

We also provide a playful plastic version of kids’ skis that can be adjusted with straps over normal shoes for the even younger wannabe skiers.

Kids snowboard equipment provided by Burton and their popular Riglet series starts from 24 European size (UK 6 youth size) and the shortest board is 70 cm.

Private one-to-one lesson

This will be a next step with a professional next to your little wannabe-skier / snowboarder in a less than 2 hours lesson as 2 hours has proved to be very long for a less than 5 years old kid. One hour would be recommended for the first attempt(s), and perhaps longer lessons later.

Kindergarten

Another option for your little one is to sign up for the resort’s kindergarten. The kindergarten is a service offered by Ulen (the company that manages the ski centre) for young kids between 2-7 years old.

It’s for half or all day and they provide indoor and outdoor play, lunch break and ski equipment as well as some tuition during the day to the kids that wish to try some skiing. It is a low-priced service as they do not aim in ski tuition but more in taking care of the children in a fun environment, while the rest of the family are skiing.

The kindergarten is on the second -last- station of the Gondola, Banderitsa Polyana, so you can also have a look at your child while on the mountain. You arrange this service on the spot at the Gondola lift bottom station in the town of Bansko or contact them in advance through their official website banskoski.com.

Can we be taught ski & snowboard in the same (private) group?

Ski and snowboard lessons are held separately and not with the same instructor. We have done before, after our customers request, however it mostly intends to family fun and not to the highest quality of lesson.
